THE KINGDOM CHALLENGE   4/26/2022
1 John 4:18 King James Version

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY by Ty Tice

Many today walk around in fear, not understanding what it does to them. It's because at the root of fear is torment. Torment is defined as severe physical or mental suffering. This torment is so severe that Jesus says in the last days men's heart will fail them. I know in my own life that if God doesn't intervene with my eye next week, I'll see a Doctor about surgery on my retina. If I let fear in, I could go blind if it is not successful; I could die on the operating table; my bladder could fail while I'm under, and on and on. Sounds silly, I know, but it is these torments of the soul that feed fear and give it power to consume us. So how do I choose to handle this?

First thing I do is to be honest with myself and the Lord. 1 Peter 5:7 King James Version
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” “Jesus I am afraid and scared.” He, the Lord God of the Universe, was waiting for you to call out to Him. As I unfold my heart and my fears to Him, He lifts my burdens and replaces them with peace, With that peace comes
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

What is left is a calm assurance that it is an operation, then it is the Holy Spirit guiding the surgeon's hands. I now have peace that no evil can beset me, because I am a child of God, saved by the blood of Jesus my Savior. My challenge to you, my friend, is will you let Jesus take your fear...or will you allow torment to fester in your soul?

KINGDOM CHALLENGE FOR 5/3/2022
Matthew 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY By Ty Tice
As a Christian, “Kingdom Living” is about doing the will of the Father. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” This type of will supersedes our fleshly wants and desires. Jesus had to accept this cup while praying in the Garden of gethsemane. None of us has had such a burden to fulfill, yet for each of us there will be times when our earthly desires are preempted for His greater good.

In the early '80s , I was pastoring a church in a small town in Northern California. We took a small group to a Spiritual Growth Conference in San Jose. This was like an exciting vacation for this small church preacher. We were all checked into a nearby motel the day before. That night I awoke with a horrifying toothache. By morning everyone was heading to the conference, and I was on my way to a dentist chair. When the dental assistant asked why I was so far away from home, I explained we were down here for the Spiritual Growth Conference. She had a very sad look and said she previously attended the church but had fallen away. Out of my mouth the Lord said to her, “You know He wants you back in church.” As a tear rolled down her cheek, she responded with “I know.”

Now I ask you, was a soul worth a traumatized tooth? My response is “you bectha.” Now before you go there, He does not put sickness on people, yet he did know my poor dental care would put me in the dentist chair. I would ask each of you when you are going through a hard time, is your attitude reflecting His Kingdom or your carnal discomfort? Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

KINGDOM CHALLENGE for 5/10/2022

Psalm 2 KJV
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

In this day of arrogance and pride we watch time and again the mighty fall. I shudder in fear of the Lord when I see this. Why, you ask? I can tell you as a young preacher I was lifted up for a season in pride. God always sends you a warning, but “pride” usually rejects it. In my own case it was a person that I felt was beneath me. Then God put His foot down. I left my first church broken and fell on my face, repenting of my pride. Literally within the week, God restored my ministry. We serve a merciful God. I was no longer a “one man show” with an ego too big for my head. Now I had an army of “compassion warriors” encouraging me in the work that God set out for me.
Jehoiakim, king of Judah, followed not after his father Josiah who God blessed. Instead he followed after his grandfather and great grandfather which were evil in their reign of Judah. Because he rebelled against God, God delivered his people with part of the vessels of the house of God into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. God then warned Nebuchadnezzar in a dream which Daniel interpreted for him, what his pride would cost him. Until Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the true King over all the earth, his demise was total and complete.

Isaiah 40:22a
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers;
So, dear brother and sister, the Kingdom challenge for you today: stay fast in the Lord, and He will exalt and bless you. When you fall, repent quickly and seek the Lord diligently with your whole heart. “Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”

And He’s Working All Things for My Good
KINGDOM CHALLENGE for 5/17/2022
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
Betsy and I were sitting with our morning coffee, discussing times that seemed bad and didn't see how this was for anyone's good. Just recently I found I needed retina surgery, and the surgery center is out of my health care network. Add to this, the position I would be in for 5 days would be contrary to what works for a heart that needs healing. I asked, “Lord, how is this for my good, let alone Your good?” Well I have MANY people praying not just for a successful surgery but for a total healing of both my eye and my heart. “WOW, please Lord!” Their faith is building my faith, and, I believe, building theirs at the same time. Will I still need surgery by the New Year? Only God knows, and it is His will that I desire. I think of that old song, “It's my desire to be like Jesus.”
KINGDOM CHALLENGE
Here is the challenge for this week. Think back on the times of confusion and frustration, with nothing working but the storm from without. Those times, though hard, were meant in some form to build our character into God's character. Can you see it now as you look back? How many times has the accounts of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego been told and retold? Will your accounts of standing in confidence and faith give Glory to the Lord?

GLORY BE TO THE LAMB
Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY by Ty Tice
I was a young man in San Jose, driving home alone and in worship to the Lord. In the Spirit, I heard Betsy sing a song I had never heard. She would write it several years later. As is true with the “Word of Knowledge,” once it goes through the “conduit” (me), it is gone. So Betsy would have to discover the song through the same source as I had. Praise and worship is the key for the Holy Spirit to reveal the Glory of God. Very few experience this level of freedom in the Spirit because their own needs and wants are so heavy. This is why Jesus says to us in Matthew 11:29, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

KINGDOM CHALLENGE

Are you sick, discouraged, overwhelmed with life? The Scripture commands us in Isaiah 61:3 "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified." So, dear friend, when true praise goes forth, everything you thought was important doesn't hold a candle to His Glory, This intense praise is the entrance to true Worship.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
One of my favorite Scripture passages is in I Kings 18 where Elijah mocked the 450 prophets of Baal as they tried to conjure up fire from heaven. He then built his altar of 12 stones for the 12 tribes of the sons of Jacob whose name shall be Israel. He prepared the wood and bullock. Three times he soaked the altar with water as he was instructed by the Lord.

THEN ELIJAH PRAYED.

1Kings 18:36b I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.

Popular opinion was with the King and Queen along with the 450 prophets of Baal. Elijah stood alone in Truth, listening to the Lord and obeying.

KINGDOM CHALLENGE

Dear friend, the times are extremely evil and wicked. Criminals are given the free reign of our cities. Victims are persecuted for trying to do what's right. Drugs, perversions, and abortions are accepted as being normal. Will you be the one to stand in truth, declare the Word of the Lord, and not be intimidated? Be absolutely assured the same God who consumed Elijah's altar for His Glory will consume your heart with His fire of the Holy Spirit. In these end times, let the Light of the Lord dispel the darkness of sin and deceit.

2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
I hardly know where to start this tribute to Pastors Joey & Betty Hamby. Today, we call them our pastors even though they are in another state. Back in 1980, Betsy and I started to attend a church that would be the catalyst into full time ministry just a few months later. My dad was a Baptist minister, and Betsy's parents were holiness ministers. Something happened at the church that Betsy's parents would call the “second blessing,” and my dad would say “crazy.” Joey was on the piano; he and Betty were singing. A rushing mighty wind filled the church, people were singing in “unknown tongues.” This little Baptist boy tried to negotiate with God for the gift of interpretation, but God smiled on him and gave him what he needed, and not what he wanted.
A month later, we would fill out decree cards according to Job 22:28 at a New Year's Eve Watch Party. Betsy and I put on our card that we would flow in all the gifts of the Spirit and be in full time ministry by the end of the year. Little did we know that by July we would pastor our first church, and Joey and Betty would be a part of a revival at another church that would last for half a year. From it would come an album called “The Awakening.” Some time later, we took our church to “Jesus West Coast,” where again our paths would cross with this dynamic couple. Fast forward through forty years of ministry shepherding a group of ministers and an online Bible College, and I was ready for a quiet retirement in 2014. At that time, I shared that a minister will always minister, but I was retiring from the business end of ministry. My mom's side of the family are all artists in one way or another. For me to listen to my Christian music and do “scroll saw art” seemed almost natural. Betsy would continue to do weekly devotionals from the songs she had written and the books we had previously written.
We started to attend Pastors Joey and Betty Hamby's Reunion Church in Katy, TX, online. (Note: health issues prevent us from local church attendance.) Once again, they were encouraging this old man to “Stir up the Gift” that he had received so many years ago when Joey & Betty where leading the church into the presence of God and His mighty rushing wind. I informed Betsy that I wanted to start doing the weekly devotionals, and she said, “Good, I was running out of things to say.” Betsy now has time to gather her songs together for us to sing.
KINGDOM CHALLENGE
Do you know whose life you are affecting? We knew Joey and Betty, even attended a party with them, but they didn't know us. Yet, they were the vessels God used to desire His best for our life. When we were at “Jesus West Coast,” at Pastors Joey & Betty's Ministry table, I mentioned something to Pastor Betty. I saw tears flow down her cheeks. I knew in the Spirit “that hurt,” for the Lord has sheltered me through it many times. Whether it was what I said or the stress of the event itself, those tears sent us a message that we all need to be lifted up. Throughout the years, the Lord has had us lifting Joey and Betty up in prayer, knowing God wanted our agreement (Matthew 18:19). The “details” are His Business. Today, when our pastors share in their message all that they have been through, we are in awe at the strength it takes to “fight the good fight of faith.”
So, dear friend, who is your spiritual mentor? Do you have unknown prayer warriors? If someone comes to your mind, STOP and PRAY FOR THEM. I remind you that it is not your need to know the details, for the Holy Spirit will show you what to pray.

Luke 10:38-42 NKJV Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

When I was a young married man we purchased our first house in Pleasant Hill, CA. We were both working to support this investment. It didn't matter that it was 23 years old with windows that wouldn't open, no A/C, and a back yard that flooded with the slightest rain. It was ours!! (and the bank's) We were excited about the rich panel accent wall we installed in our living room, our painted kitchen cabinets with the pretty place mats glued to the center of each door. We were elated when our red, pink, and yellow roses bloomed. We were in Love. Everything we did was for the house UNTIL we had the opportunity to trade-up to a bigger house. Life is busy like this for most people. What is the next thing that will make this life better? BUSY, BUSY, BUSY.

In our 49 years of marriage the one constant, stable element was our love for each other. Yet, we spent 90% of our efforts caring for the material things we claimed made us happy. When we moved to Texas, Betsy still had to work as a substitute teacher because we were supporting a home we couldn't fully fit into our retirement budget. One evening Betsy looked at me and said, “You don't talk very much, do you?” With laughter and love we knew there was so much that we still needed to discover about each other.

KINGDOM CHALLENGE

Martha was that 90% busy while Mary chose the intimacy of the Savior's Presence. We can choose to be overwhelmed by the things of this world, OR experience the Love of our Savior, our spouse, and our families.

HOPELESSLY IN LOVE WITH YOU by Betsy Tice

 PREAMBLE

As the woman who anointed Jesus with costly ointment, kissed his feet, washed them with her tears, and dried them with her hair, may I be “Hopelessly in Love with You.” As You said of Mary, Martha's sister, who sat at Your feet to learn from You, may it be said of me, “She has chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her.”

The warmth of Your smile makes life’s living worthwhile
As I bask in Your kind embrace, (X3) Jesus, lover of my soul.

Deep calls unto deep as I worship at Your feet,
And my will becomes lost in Yours, (X3)

Your gentle embrace will life’s sorrow erase
And bring peace to my troubled soul, (X3)
My Savior and my friend.

John 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

Several decades ago, I was in a small northern California town called Willows. God had sent Betsy and me there to do a ,work for Him. We went from a motel conference room to a VFW hall, to a building once used by the Glenn County Human Resources. Many that we ministered to had lives that were falling apart, or they were barely hanging on. I remember a poem one of the parishioners wrote for me on “Pastor Appreciation Day.” It read, “Our Pastor goes to court with us.” Both of the county judges, and many of the lawyers, knew me because of my “Spiritual Children.” God was teaching me how to Love the way He did. Rather than judge us, He bore our sins for us. What LOVE that is! I'm still learning how to feed His sheep. Unlike Christ, I won't do someone's Time or penalties that one reaps, but I have leaned how to stand with them through their pain. Many of my “spiritual children” from back then are now flourishing, Christian Adults raising another generation, and even grandchildren, in the wonderful realm of being God-fearing, committed Christians. Some still falter along the way, but what family doesn't have a wayward child that still needs the same love and care, so they too can stand on solid ground?

Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

Many times I have been overwhelmed by the things of this world. My wife likes watching Fox News.....that is when I say, “I'm putting on my ears,” which means my WiFi headset and the internet is my retreat from the things that I cannot change.” What can I say? I'm a man; if I can't fix it, I ignore it. I live in a world where politicians run on platforms to kill unwanted babies. I live in a world where people call their sin by multiple names rather then repent and ask God for forgiveness. Throughout the ages, Satan has stirred the hatred of the races against one another. Every religious observance Satan has countered with his counterfeit, Santa for a Savior, a bunny for a Resurrection, golf and baseball for a Sunday Worship Service, and the list goes on. Sometimes, while Betsy is watching her “news,” she will ask what I'm watching on my laptop. I smile and turn my screen towards her of someone mowing a lawn or running a homestead saw mill. I asked myself why, and the answer surprised even me. Those people on the internet found problems and provided solutions to fix them.

THE KINGDOM CHALLENGE

So here is our challenge today. Do we ignore the depravity and evil around us? We really can't because it shows up in every endeavor of our daily living. But there is One who is the repairer of all things, but He requires us to “cast ALL our cares on Him, because He cares for us.” Thank you, Jesus, for giving Your yoke and lightening our burden.

Just open the door to My Spirit. For you know, Perfect love casts out fear.”

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
When I was a child, my parents called me Orvie (Orvil). I was a Junior, but dad went by Barney. I still don't know why. In elementary school, I was known by my middle name, Leroy. In junior high, it was shortened to Lee. In the navy, my last name was slurred from Tice to Ty. [Ty Tice] Liked it kept it. Many of my friends have gone through many name changes. From real names, to variants, to nicknames we find what suits us best.
Have you ever wondered what name Jesus knows you by? I believe we receive a hint in Revelation 22:20-21. This one thing I am sure of. I know His voice, and He calls me by name. Thank you, Jesus.
ABOUT THIS WEEK'S SONG by Betsy Tice
“I Am Your Lamb” represents a response to the words of, “He's Waiting To Hear from His Sheep,” another song that the Holy Spirit gave me to write. This song was featured in last week's devotional. As I read the Scriptures underneath the title, I was particularly impressed and inspired by the words in John where we read that He calls His sheep by name. He doesn't just call, “Here, sheep!” We are all special and beloved to Him. What a thought!

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

No matter what side of the political, racial, or economic fence you are on, there is one element that is predominant in keeping you in torment. That element is FEAR. We fear nothing will or will not change. We fear that health, finances, or comfort is being stripped away. It seems sometimes that Satan has human demons running around stirring the pot of turmoil of our every day living.
There are two types of fear. The first is a fear in awe as in: Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. David declares here that the God who created the universe and who created the first man and woman in His image, literally possessed his reins in his mother's womb. That is the AWE type of FEAR. I shake my head at how some speak haphazardly as though they are in charge, and God has to do as they say because they have said some “magic phrases from the Bible.” I thank God that He calls me friend and am in AWE (fear) in His presence because He is GOD.

The second type of fear is what we see around us and has no substance of its own. Therefore all it can do, because its author is Satan, is to steal, kill, and destroy.

The following song is Betsy's testimony when the God of all Creation delivered her one evening in a church service when the pastor asked to pray for her. The pastor spoke a Word of Knowledge in the Name of Jesus, removing that fear that had dominated her life.

THE GOD OF CREATION
(Psalms 34 and John 6:37)
Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
Key of F
VERSE 1:
For years I felt like an orphan
Estranged from the family of God.
When people would say, “The Father loves you,”
I could only in suffering nod.
Then one day I called out to Jesus,
“Oh, Father, please hear my cry!”
And soon He brought an answer to me.
On His Spirit and Word I rely.
CHORUS:
The God of Creation is waiting.
He wants to pour out His love.
“Him that cometh to Me, I will not cast out,”
Says my Jesus, Who’s reigning above.
VERSE 2:
“I sought the Lord,” said the Psalmist.
“He delivered me from all my fears.”
“I AM the Lord, and I change not,”
Has been true for thousands of years.

CHORUS: Key of F
The God of Creation is waiting.
He wants to pour out His love.
“Him that cometh to Me, I will not cast out,”
Says my Jesus, Who’s reigning above.
(Transition to Key of Eb)
VERSE 2: Key of Eb
“I have already shown you I love you.
I died to set you free.
But if in your sorrow, My love you can’t feel,
In My comfort, My love you will see.”
CHORUS: Key of Eb
The God of Creation is waiting.
He wants to pour out His love.
“Him that cometh to Me, I will not cast out,”
Says my Jesus, Who’s reigning above.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.  18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.  19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;  20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

I know many can identify with this confession but are frustrated what to do about it. I pray we achieve the answer together. Before 2020 hit us with fear and sickness, most of us were experiencing better times. I had lost almost 100 lbs and weighed in at 193 lbs.I was swimming 5 days a week along with spending hours doing scroll saw art. I still had other health issues, but things were improving. Then someone put a name on fear and called it COVID. As the world went into a panic, every gathering place was shut down. Pools, restaurants, gyms, stadiums, and even schools were now closed to the public. For myself, walking didn't bring the joy. I had more time to sit and eat resulting in 50 of those lbs being gained back, and more health issues piling on top of the current ones.

I was grumbling to the Lord about the price of everything and the lack of food on the selves in the stores. I heard in the Spirit, “Give up your lawn service.” Say what, Lord?I have A-Fib; it's hot here in Florida, and I'm out of shape. There were many other reasons this was a bad idea.

Let's be honest here. When the Lord gives us something hard to do, we tend to resist because we don't see what HE SEES IN US. Well, I haven't lost any weight yet because I just gave up the candy and chocolate shakes. But after two weeks of mowing my lawn (1/3 of an acre) at 15 minute intervals, re-hydrating, and cooling down, I find my strength coming back and a refreshing in my body.

Mind you, the devil never sits quietly by when you are obeying the Lord. My lawn guy cut his price in half, and it would be cheaper to have him do it. So I told my lawn guy, “The Lord is having me do this for my health, and should He provide another way, I will reconsider using you again.”

KINGDOM CHALLENGE FOR YOU

Paul told Timothy to STIR UP THE GIFT that you received by the laying on of our hands. Did God give you something to do that you have stopped doing? Have you lost your joy and ambition? Remember: “God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

Stir up the Gift
By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice (II Timothy 1:6-7, James 5:16-20, I John 5:14-15, Hebrews 12:1-2. and Philippians 1:6)

Key of C or F
CHORUS (1):
Stir, stir, stir, stir, stir, stir, stir up the gift.
His Spirit lives in you today.
He'll give you power, love, and a sound mind,
And He will chase your fear away!
VERSE 1:
Why don't you pray the way Elijah prayed?
He told the king his words were true.
Your Word will be according to His will,
And He will hear and answer you.
VERSE 2:
Why don't you look to Jesus on the cross,
The One Who shed His blood for you?
He is the author of your “precious faith,”
And He'll complete the work in you.

CHORUS (2):
Stir, stir, stir, stir, stir, stir, stir up the gift.
God's Holy Spirit lives in you.
He'll give you power, love, and a sound mind.
He'll give you grace to see you through.

Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
Have you ever wondered what happens when you pray in God's will? Praying through our struggles and circumstances sometimes seems like a futile effort. I think of Jesus in the garden pleading for this cup to be taken from him. He, being the Son of God, knew what He, the Son of Man, must endure over the next few days. Can you imagine knowing you would be beaten, scourged, mocked, rejected, then hung on a cross to die? This is what Jesus was praying through! As He prayed, He finalized His prayer to the Father with, “Yet Thy will be done.” Do you know that when you pray in His “will,” your prayer is kept in a golden vial as a sweet perfume before the Lord?

KINGDOM CHALLENGE:

I believe that when we pray through our struggles, we enter a peace, knowing that He will see us through as long as we are in the Will of God. At this point, we refocus from our situation to the presence of our Redeemer. In His presence, we are left with a New Song. Now we know who we are.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

When I was a young boy, the “Big Screen” boasted such names as Cary Grant, John Wayne, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley. Their true fame was for a season and then remembered only by those who lived in that era. Each generation has its own super stars, and/or those claiming celebrity status. Sadly, it has slipped into Christianity with the advent of television, satellite, and the internet. The danger for these godly men and women is being puffed up. Inadvertently, they steal God's Glory rather than flowing in His Glory. The one constant of earthly celebrity status is that fame is very temporal in the realm of eternity.
KINGDOM CHALLENGE
The challenge for each of us is to stay humble knowing it is not us, but God in us, Who works and does His will. COLOSSIANS 1: 25 whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 where unto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

I use to tease Betsy that the song she wrote below was like Sherry Lewis and Lamb Chop's “It's the song that doesn't end.” All kidding aside, when you are walking in the Kingdom of the Son of God, it becomes a way of life. I will give you an example: I have multiple aliments and cures recommended by man; Retina Surgery needed, blood thinners for Afib, pills for Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and the list goes on. I was talking with Pastor Joey Hamby and shared the frustration of trying to take on the mountain by shoveling it away when God instructs His children to speak to it. I am to say to the mountain, “By His Stripes I “WAS” healed. My healing will never be by the knowledge or wisdom of man, even if God uses Doctors to correct something with surgery or medicines. ONLY GOD CAN DO THE ACTUAL HEALING. My healing was bought with a price by my Savior Jesus Christ.

KINGDOM CHALLENGE

When our mind is focused on His Love and Care for us, it becomes a mindset that will upset many. They do not have the Hope we have, because of our FAITH, knowing it is already a completed work. All we have to do is to walk in Kingdom Compliance. Not my will but Yours be done.

Psalm 33:17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
Matthew Poole's Commentary
An horse; though he be strong, Job 39:19, and fit for battle, Proverbs 21:31; or for flight, if need requires. And so this is put for all warlike provisions; of which horses were and are a very considerable part.

A vain thing, Heb. a lie, because it promiseth that help and safety which it cannot give.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY by Ty Tice

So many put their trust in material things for their future. Our trust may be in a pension, a job, investment, or family commitment for our future security. Betsy and I depend on a retirement pension from the state of California. When politicians have raided them, those funds have become very insecure at times. WE could say, “A pension is a VAIN thing for safety.” If our trust isn't in the Lord, then the material things, no matter how secure they may appear, are as temporal as the last breath we took.

KINGDOM CHALLENGE

Let's acknowledge that political parties (No matter what country) can not be a solution. No wealth acquired will sustain more than moments should the monetary system collapse. Family can be wiped out with just one catastrophic event. Lamentations 3:21-23 KJV. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Isaiah 1:18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
We are all His Work in progress. Did you ever stop to think that He knew you in your mother's womb? Some think, because of their past or present sin, that life is hopeless. The Lord covers your sin, washed away in His blood shed for you, to become white as snow and as wool. So why are you still holding on to your imperfection from the past (guilt) or present (addiction)?
The woman with the issue of blood was considered by the population at large to be unclean. She had paid many a physician to heal her to no avail. Yet she knew if she could touch Jesus' garment, it would be enough. The Bible tells that she was instantly healed of her plague.

Dear friend,
Today, this instant in time, Jesus is calling us: Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

“From the Inside Out”
By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
(Matthew 11:28-30, Mark 5:25-29, and Isaiah 1:18)

VERSE 1:
Are you struggling, working for Me?
Is the load more than you can bear?
There is rest within My presence.
I'll lift the load and take away your care.

VERSE 2:
Have the doctors failed to cure you?
Left you worse than you were before?
Ask in faith, the Healer's waiting,
And He will heal you, “From the inside out.”

VERSE 3:
Are you trapped by an addiction?
Overcome by guilt and shame?
Seek the mercy of the Savior,
And He will cleanse you, “From the inside out.”

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
Last week we dealt with His Transforming Love. The ONLY thing we have to do, to experience this love, is to follow Paul's example. “I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” 1 Corinthians 15:31
What does it mean to "die to self?" I would suggest, it is putting aside my will and desires until I can clearly say this is God's desire for me. It means giving up my control, my self-importance, and even my self-confidence till God's will and desire become mine. Paul says it's a daily death. Is this easy? NOT! Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Will you be a branch so attached to the Vine that much fruit can be brought forth? It means becoming His conduit of Love and Sweet Fruit. Oh the joy to be able to declare,“I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” 1 Corinthians 15:31

2 Corinthians 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
It is hard to see our own progress in serving the Lord, or the changes that others see in us. I have witnessed drug addicts that looked like death was just a step away. When these same individuals accepted Jesus as their Savior, their deliverance from drugs would literally transform their lives over time. I would see first their faces and body return from skin and bones to a natural, healthy look. Their hygiene and appearance to others became important to them. A fake smile was replaced with a joyful smile of new beginnings.
From Matthew Henry's commentary - “for with open face we behold the glory of the Lord, 2 Cor. 3:18. The Israelites saw the glory of God in a cloud, which was dark and dreadful; but Christians see the glory of the Lord as in a glass, more clearly and comfortably. It was the peculiar privilege of Moses for God to converse with him face to face, in a friendly manner; but now all true Christians see him more clearly with open face. He showeth them his glory. (3.) This light and liberty are transforming; we are changed into the same image, from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18), from one degree of glorious grace unto another, till grace here be consummated in glory for ever.”

Proverbs 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

My cousins in Detroit were three tough brothers that fought each other constantly. At least, that is how it appeared to an outsider. Should anyone pick on one of the brothers, the other two came down on the silly person like a swarm of bees protecting their queen. That is how the Lord, who calls us “friend,” covers us with His protection.

This is Jesus' Love Story to you when you accept His Salvation: Psalm 91: 14-16 (TPT)14 For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you loved me, delighted in me, and have been loyal to my name, I will greatly protect you. 15 I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will feel my presence in your time of trouble. I will deliver you and bring you honor. 16 I will satisfy you with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”

In Your Presence, O God
By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
(Psalms 91 and 119, and Proverbs 18:24)

In Your presence, O God, there is healing.
In Your presence, O God, sweet release.
In Your presence, O Lord, there is joy without end.
In Your presence, O Lord, there is peace.

CHORUS:
Let me dwell in your presence, O Lord.
Let me worship and learn at Your feet.
Let me look on Your face and be lost in Your grace.
Let me dwell in your presence, O Lord.

VERSE 2:
There are friends here on Earth, whom we cherish,
And their love brings such joy to our heart.
Yet the greatest of all of life’s treasures
Is the Friend Who will never depart.

Psalm 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

The term “seek” is to discover or find something of importance. In forensics it may be finding a hair, a blood type, knife, or bullet match that would present evidence to solve a mystery. I would suggest that same intensity of seeking is used when we fall in love with a person. We can look at his or her face, and the slightest movement of any facial muscle will tell us their desire, or even dislike, for what is taking place. I know for myself that one look at my sweetheart's face, because our familiarity, will tell me what she is feeling down to knowing her unspoken thought.

The Lord desires us to seek His face until we know Him as a lover knows his or her spouse. That type of seeking brings great reward, comfort, and security to the seeker. Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Seek My Face
By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
(Psalm 27:8 and Acts 1-2:4)

CHORUS:
“Seek My face. Seek My face.
If you would partake of My grace.
Seek My face. Seek My face.
The answer will come when you seek My face.”

VERSE 1:
“He is gone,” His disciples said,
“Though we know He rose from the dead.”
“Now we’re alone. What shall we do?”
“Wait and My Spirit will come to you.”

CHORUS:

VERSE 2:
So they prayed in unity,
Trusting that soon His promise they’d see.
And when the time to receive had come,
Then came the Spirit with cloven tongues.

CHORUS:
“Seek My face. Seek My face.
If you would partake of My grace.
Seek My face. Seek My face.
The answer will come when you seek My face.”

VERSE 3:
Friend, have you reached the depths of despair,
Thinking that no one is left to care.
Turn to the One who died for you.
There is no limit to what He will do

CHORUS:
“Seek My face. Seek My face. If you would partake of My grace.
Seek My face. Seek My face. The answer will come when you seek My face.”

Matthew 26:10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. 11For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. 12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. 13Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY BY Ty Tice

A little background before Betsy shares her story. Jesus was in Simon the Leper's house. Many theologians believe that this is the only one of the ten, whom Jesus healed, that came back to thank Him and worship Him. Even though Simon was cleansed, the stigma was remembered by man. Man will always remember the worst, yet God only Remembers His love for us and our love for Him.

THE STORY BY Betsy Tice

One day, I was reading the story in the Bible of Mary, who anointed Jesus with costly ointment. She also washed His feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, and kissed them repeatedly. (Matthew 26:6 -13, Mark 14:3 – 9, and Luke 7:36 – 50.) Jesus said at the end of the Matthew account, “Verily, I say unto you, ‘Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.’”
In reading these words, I was awestruck by the realization that this Scripture was being fulfilled right before my very eyes, as it had been for many others in the past, and would be for countless others in the future. Out of that realization, the song was birthed, “It’s All True.”
Verses 2 and 3 came from reading John 6:46 – 58, especially verse 58. In this verse Jesus says of Himself, “This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.”

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY BY Ty Tice

Have you ever felt put down or less than someone else? I spent much of this last week watching the United Kingdom say their final goodbyes to their Queen, while acknowledging King Charles III. The respect shown by the multitudes was amazing. Sadly, in this country and many other countries, respect is controlled either by the morals of Hollywood or a destructive media creating hate and adversarial temperament within the country. Little has changed since the Samaritan woman asked Jesus where men should worship God. His answer to her is the same answer to us today, If we want a real answer to life's problems, it can only be found in His Truth and in His Spirit. Quit letting man tell you who and what you are. That status will always be less than who they believe they are. Jesus says, I have redeemed (your name here) by My blood and broken down the middle wall of partition between God and man. Real change only comes by putting God first. The United States prospered in the beginning because the founders acknowledged their “good fortune” was due to the Grace of God.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

From Betsy Tice about her song below. In this song, the Holy Spirit puts together two passages of Scripture. The chorus refers to the Ephesians passage, while the verses tell the familiar story of the encounter between the Samaritan woman at the well and Jesus.

The Wall is Broken
By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
(John 4:9-26 and Ephesians 2:13-22)

Key of C

CHORUS:
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
He has redeemed us to God by His blood.

VERSE 1:
“I’m a Samaritan. You are a son of Abraham.
Where shall men worship God?
I’m a Samaritan. You are a son of Abraham.
Where shall men worship God?”

VERSE 2:

“Well, neither in this mountain, nor at Jerusalem,
Shall men worship God.
But in His Spirit and in His truth
Shall His worshippers worship God.”

CHORUS:
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
He has redeemed us to God by His blood.

VERSE 3:
“When Messiah comes, He will tell us all things,
And then we can worship God.”
“I that speak unto you Am He,” said Jesus.
“I am the Christ sent from God.”

CHORUS:
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
Oh, the wall is broken. Rejoice! Rejoice!
He has redeemed us to God by His blood.

Betsy's Story of Hope and Love
On a Wednesday night in December of 1980, Pastor Foreman was preaching on the Word of Knowledge. He reached out towards where I was sitting three rows back and said, “Come here, my sister, I would like to pray for you, and don't be afraid.”

I went forward, and he said, “You have a hunger for God.” (At this point I was thinking that he was going to say something about my not being saved.) He continued however, “Fear and feelings of inferiority have dominated your life, and, tonight, God is going to heal you of that fear.” He went on to say that I had sought my whole life for His assurance of my salvation, and the Lord wanted me to know this was the night of my assurance.
Pastor Kenny prayed over me in tongues. I felt a light, yet firm, pressure, as though someone was gently pushing me with two or three fingers, and I fell backwards to the floor under the power of the Holy Spirit. As the ushers assisted me, it felt like I was gently floating. The next day, I told Ty I was pretty sure that the preacher had pushed on my forehead, and that was why I fell over. He assured me that it had to be the touch of the Holy Spirit because Pastor Foreman had never even touched me.

As a result of my encounter with the Holy Spirit, I was assured of my salvation, delivered of my fears, and thrust into an exciting life with Jesus. Prior to that night, I was afraid to read the Bible. I saw condemnation to hell and/or prohibitions of any fun on every page. Philippians and Psalms were about all that I could handle. All of a sudden, I loved to read the Bible, and it began speaking to my heart, words of love and assurance. Then I began to hear from Him and write songs. The first song I ever wrote was called, “The God of Creation.”

“The God of Creation”
(Psalms 34 and John 6:37)

By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice

VERSE 1: F
For years I felt like an orphan
Estranged from the family of God.
When people would say, “The Father loves you,”
I could only in suffering nod.
Then one day I called out to Jesus,
“Oh, Father, please hear my cry!”
And soon He brought an answer to me.
On His Spirit and Word I rely.

(CHORUS) F

The God of Creation is waiting.
He wants to pour out His love.
“Him that cometh to Me, I will not cast out,”
Says my Jesus, Who’s reigning above.

VERSE 2: F
“I sought the Lord,” said the Psalmist.
“He delivered me from all my fears.”
“I AM the Lord, and I change not,”
Has been true for thousands of years.

(CHORUS) F Transition to Eb
The God of Creation is waiting.
He wants to pour out His love.
“Him that cometh to Me, I will not cast out,”
Says my Jesus, Who’s reigning above.

VERSE 2: Eb
“I have already shown you I love you.
I died to set you free.
But if in your sorrow, My love you can’t feel,
” In My comfort, My love you will see.”

(CHORUS) Eb
The God of Creation is waiting.
He wants to pour out His love.
“Him that cometh to Me, I will not cast out,”
Says my Jesus, Who’s reigning above.

Thought for the Day by Ty Tice
In the days of David, he wrote PSALM 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. TODAY: We hide not in the shadow, rather the Almighty has taken up residence in us. Jesus said, "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
This was such an impacting presence that Acts 5 tells us that people would even come from afar. They would lay mats and beds with the sick, and tormented ones, so when Peter would pass by, his shadow would fall across them. The Almighty would touch them, and they would be healed. This shadow is still the shadow of the Almighty. Do you realize that the Healer, present in you, can be the vehicle to say to a friend, "Such as I have, In the Name (Presence) of Jesus, rise up and be healed."

The God of miracles is here.

If only I could have seen His power,
Then forever with Him I’d abide.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

We look around us, see people, and “size them up” according to our own surroundings and experiences. We then tend to advise our friends based on that same flawed expertise. My generation was raised on Dr. Spock's observation of life, which consisted of permissive child rearing. How sad it is when people seek man's direction over God's direction! For this reason the Lord directed Samuel, “Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

Do you realize He loves you so much that He chose to pay the penalty for everything you would do wrong in the sight of God? NO SIN IS GREATER THAN HIS LOVE! Man will fail you, but God will not.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
WARNING: Here in the United States we have an election where people will go to the polls to cast their vote for the leaders and desired outcome of this country. There will be requirements for the Christians who are walking in His Light.

1. The outcome of the election is everything we desired. CAUTION: We must uphold those leaders daily because the wicked one is still seeking “whom he may devour.”

2. The outcome is everything we didn't want. CAUTION: Continue to pray for the leaders for their salvation and direction. This is the time to seek the Lord, not for their destruction (calling down fire from heaven), but for any corrections He desires to make in our own life.

3. The outcome is a fraudulent election. CAUTION: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Remember, we are only sojourners, and God is our HOPE! Do NOT Despair.

By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
(Isaiah 45:23 and Philippians 2:9-13)

CHORUS:
Every knee shall bow. (X2) At the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.
And every tongue confess. Every tongue confess.
Every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

VERSE1:
Faithful Father lead us. Gentle Jesus feed us.
Guided by Thy Spirit, surely we will be.

VERSE 2:
Only You are Holy. Only You are Worthy.
We will live our lives to glorify Your Name.

CHORUS:
Every knee shall bow. (X2) At the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.
And every tongue confess. Every tongue confess.
Every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

POSSIBLE SEQUEL(S) FOR THE WORSHIP LEADER: “It Is God Who's Working in You.” “You Are Worthy To Receive,” “Glory Be to the Lamb,” and/or “Thou Art Worthy.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

After you vote remember this: God's In Charge

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Psalm 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Daniel 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice

In Isaiah chapter 1, God is outraged with Israel with their wickedness and evil doing. He declares their iniquities and consequences for their rejection of the Lord. Yet, He also declares His power to forgive if they turn to the Lord. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

What a God! Whether it be sin or disease, His love is greater than our guilt. His Transforming Love from the Inside Out is here for all who will receive.

Mark 5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY by Ty Tice
“1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

Many find themselves in torment (judgment) because they can't overcome their own perceived failures and mistakes, whether real or imaginary. How many times have we focused on our past history rather than the present freedom God desires us to flow in?

When we surrender to His Perfect Love no, evil can remain. All of our fear is cleansed through His Blood till our history is no more, and all that matters is His Love for you and me. Betsy wrote this song from 1 John 4:18. We hope you enjoy it.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK OF 11/28/2022  “A Grateful Praise” by Betsy Tice

It was the Sunday before Thanksgiving 2021. On the T.V. a local pastor was preaching a message on having an “attitude of gratitude” from the Biblical account of the healing of the ten lepers in Luke 17, verses 11 -19. As he preached, one point struck me. These men were in need of total healing, not just healing from a physical disease. They needed a spiritual healing, as well.

As he preached, as is often the case when listening to a sermon, the Holy Spirit began to sing a song to my spirit. I ran to the keyboard to play and write what I was hearing. The result is “A Grateful Praise.” Pastor Ty was able to supply the title as I shared the song with him.

A careful reading of the story suggests several insights: All ten lepers were cleansed as they were on their way to follow the instructions of Jesus to go show themselves to the priests. Those of us who have seen people being healed have often heard the minister ask the person to “do something that you could not do before” as an act of faith.

The Scripture makes the point that the only one who gave thanks and glory to God was a Samaritan. Jesus made mention of that in questioning why he was the only one. The indication that he gave “glory to God,” as well as thanks, is another acknowledgment of Jesus's approval by God and of His divinity.

The Samaritan was made whole from His “attitude of gratitude.” The others were cleansed. The Samaritan was “made whole.” Some have speculated that this means his limbs were restored unlike the others who were just cleansed. I would like to think that being made whole entailed a healing of body, soul, and spirit.

A Grateful Praise
By Elizabeth C. (Betsy) Tice
(Luke 17:11-19 and I Thessalonians 5:18 and 5:23 KJV)
Key of C

VERSE 1:
Ten lepers came to Jesus,
Seeking mercy from the Lord.
On them He had compassion,
According to their word.

VERSE 2:
As they went away from Jesus,
Obeying what He said.
They saw that they were cleansed,
Their bodies no longer dead.

VERSE 3:
The Samaritan said, “Thank you,”
And fell at Jesus' feet.
He worshiped Him so loudly,
His healing was complete

VERSE 4:
May I be found like the grateful stranger,
In worship at Your feet.
For only then will I be made whole,
And my joy will be complete.
Slowly with feeling:
For only then will I be made whole,
And my joy will be complete.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK OF 12/5/2022 By Ty Tice

Some songs take on a life of their own. Betsy used to play this classical piece, Khachaturian - Toccata, which sounded like the Russian Army coming over the hill. Our apartment shook as she played it, and I am sure the neighbors felt the shaking too. A few days ago, she was playing “Humble Yourselves” for us to sing and record. I couldn't help but laugh. I told her the music was like someone shaking his/her finger at you as you were commanded to humble yourself. The song does go on to say, “and He will exalt you in His time.” I know if she had named it “He will Exalt You” instead of “Humble Yourselves,” we would have hundreds more views on YouTube. Maybe, we all need the “shaking finger” to humble ourselves a little bit more.

Early in our ministry, I preached a message that was directly from the Holy Spirit. He had shared a brand new “revelation for me” straight from the Throne room. Needless to say, I felt like the rooster taking dominion over the chicken coop. All of my congregation was congratulating me on a great message on their way out the door. I asked my mother-in-law what she thought of my new revelation. She had been a Salvation Army officer who had to take a demotion when she married my father-in-law. In the Salvation Army a wife could not have a greater rank than her husband. She laughed at me and shook her head saying, “That's Not New.” Needless to say, the rooster wasn't crowing any more. (Charles W. Smith was promoted to Heaven before his son-in-law and daughter pastored their first church).

Much later in my ministry, I warned a visiting bishop that I had just preached the previous Sunday one of his messages for which I had the notes. He assured me that he was preaching another message, but it didn't matter because each message, when laid before the altar of God, had a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit. Had I known that in my early days of ministering, I would have realized what I perceived as new was just a fresh anointing for the time.

So, dear friend, as you prepare for your day. will you take the time to ask the Lord for His anointing upon the duties He has set before you? Will you humble yourself, knowing that even if you hate your task, Father God has prepared a special anointing for you to bless someone today? It might even be for yourself.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK OF 12/26/2022

Today is the day after Christmas. The celebration of the New Born King is in the heart of every Christian who knows the price that He Paid for little, unworthy us. Sadly, too many were involved in the commercial “Santa Christmas,” so are now busy exchanging gifts they didn't want or getting discounted Christmas goodies for next year.

But Brother and Sister,

Let's stop and rejoice in the precious love Jesus has for you and me. He left Heaven to dwell with us. He bore the same agony and rejection that we experience. Yet, He did it without bitterness or sin. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Quiet your soul and hear the Lord whispering to you, “You are worth the price I paid.”

Oh, His mercy and His grace.

In His eyes I see compassion
